Ask a Cruise Expert: Any Cruises From Texas?

May 31st 2007

We launched our "Ask A Cruse Expert" tool a few weeks ago and already have had a great response. If you use this great new feature and leave your email, then one of our certified cruise experts will email personally with their response and professional advice. We will also be taking many of the anonymous questions and posting them here on our web log and this is the very first installment.

Here is the first "Ask a Cruise Expert" question:

"Does NCL have a ship that sails out of Galveston or Port of Houston? If they don't can you tell me which Cruise lines sail out of Port of Houston and Galveston?"

The Norwegian Sea was based in Houston, but was transferred to Star Cruises in 2005 and renamed the SuperStar Libra. Houston is currently building a new cruise terminal that is set to open in 2008.

The Port of Galveston is a very busy Gulf of Mexico cruise embarkation point. The port also saw its activity increase due to Hurricane Katrina, with many ships moving from New Orleans and now calling Galveston home.

Our website provides a number of different ways to research sailings from and stopping at various ports.:

  • Our search tool provides the ability to search by departure port, as well as, date, destination, cruise length, cruise line and even specific cruise ship.
  • Our destination tool is very useful if you want to see all cruises that visit a geographic region. The tool will then "drill down" to a sub-region and then show all the cruise ports in that sub-region. Clicking on any of these ports will take you to a page with port information and a calendar with ALL the cruises that visit your chosen port.
  • We even have a tool that will give you a shortcut if you already know the port city you want to research. This tool is called "Where in the World" and is found on the left side of our home page near the bottom. Look the picture of the Earth that says "Did you know that cruise ships go to over 1,000 ports?" Click on the globe and take a look at the list of all the ports you can visit. Click on the specific city for more information.

That about wraps up our first installment of "Ask A Cruise Expert" question and answers posted to our weblog. Keep the questions coming in and thank you for visiting!
